Using acronyms in business lessons for retrieval

There is a lot of research that suggests that memory devices help students to connect prior knowledge to new concepts. It also helps students to understand theories using visual clues and to put hooks into the knowledge so it can be retrieved later on.

With that in mind, I started thinking about acronyms that we use when teaching business. I have made some graphics but you could challenge your students to make their own versions. This could produce either a digital display or a physical display that you can put on the wall of your classroom as a regular reminder.

Exam questions on these topics require students to expand the acronyms, so they are well worth learning for easy extra marks.

I have put all these images into a PowerPoint so they can be used as examples or pasted into Teams.
