Maybe you have been asked to teach some  ICT which may now be called computing or IT, whatever is the latest trend.  Here are some ideas for lessons that may help you out of a tight spot.   Historically business teachers may also have to teach; law, economics, accounting,  hat-making and beekeeping but that’s not covered on this page.  Some of the links here, may on a cover lesson, be just the thing to appease a stroppy bunch of year 10s last thing on a Friday.

When students have progressed with Light Bot 1 then challenge them to LightBot 2 – you may need to check in advance to make sure this plays on your school system.  Great for a 1 hour lesson, I run solutions on the main whiteboard and challenge students to keep up with me.

Powtoon – this is a great alternative to PowerPoint for creating part animated presentations.  I ran this as an end of term project and students animated lyrics to a song that they liked.

They had to convert the you tube to MP3 and used the converter. Online no download

This is Twinery. Students create a story that is clickable, similar to the old hobbit stories. Just text. For example there is a troll in the distance do you go [[NORTH]] or do you go [[SOUTH]] – note the double square bracket is key to getting this to work, turns the text into a hyperlink. Takes 2 mins to learn and students can grasp sequences and events, plus hyperlinks and events.
